The INFINITI ProPILOT Assist system debuted in the 2019 QX60 model and gave a semi-autonomous driving experience in 1 lane of highway traffic by automatically steering, accelerating and slowing down your luxury SUV. The 2022 edition not only enhances what’s already great about this feature, but adds even more functionality.

For starters, the 2022 INFINITI QX60 will be able to have a more natural feel when it comes to steering assistance to keep you in the center of your lane. The lane detection capability has also been improved to ensure that you’re more accurately in between the lines as road conditions change.

The enhanced system also has the ability to proactively brake sooner & more softly than its predecessor, adding to the comfort and convenience you’ll get. Speeds can also be better maintained on downhill grades as well with the use of the advanced intelligent cruise control system.

“For the all-new QX60, we really wanted to up the ante to improve the confidence that customers will have in ProPILOT Assist. I like to think of it as a wetsuit. When you put one on and you jump in a lake, the wetsuit will not swim you to the other end of the lake. But while you’re swimming, it’ll help keep you comfortable, and it reduces the amount of energy you have to spend because it helps you float. It’s the same with ProPILOT Assist — it doesn’t drive you from point A to point B, but while you’re driving, you’re more comfortable and confident.”

New INFINITI ProPILOT Assist Functionality

In addition to the sensors and cameras used, the 2022 INFINITI QX60’s ProPILOT Assist also works with the onboard navigation system to give you a smoother ride when activated. The information from the navigation system is used to sense curves before they come and help you slow down or exit an off-ramp.

INFINITI ProPILOT Assist also works with traffic sign recognition to help adjust the QX60 to meet the changing speed limits on the road you’re driving. When the system isn’t activated, traffic sign recognition will indicate the current speed limit where you are conveniently in front of you on the dashboard.

New Jersey is infamous for having some of the worst bumper-to-bumper traffic. That’s why you’ll be happy to know that the onboard extended automatic restart system now supports stopping for up to 30 seconds in stop-and-go traffic situations, making commuting a whole lot easier.

“Our commitment to supporting drivers at INFINITI has never wavered. With the all-new QX60 and its ProPILOT Assist enhanced by navigation, we’re working to keep that tradition alive. Whether on a long haul for the weekend or a long highway commute on the way home at the end of the day, we’re proud to offer systems that intuitively back the driver.”
