2023 TOP SAFETY PICK+ Criteria

• Good ratings in the driver- and passenger-side small overlap front tests and original moderate overlap front test
• Good rating in the updated side test
• Acceptable or good headlights standard
• Advanced or superior rating for daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention
• Advanced or superior rating for nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention

 

Strengthened Requirements for 2023

New for 2023, IIHS strengthened its requirements to include an updated side-impact test; the addition of a nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention test; and a new requirement that “acceptable” or “good”-rated headlights are standard. As a result of the stricter requirements, fewer vehicles overall received 2023 TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards – yet the QX60 retains its top rating!
