The wait is over: the redesigned 2018 INFINITI QX80 has made its debut at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show! We already saw a preview of this model earlier in the year at the New York International Auto Show with the unveiling of the QX80 Monograph Concept.

If you saw this concept SUV, then you can tell how much it influenced the 2018 INFINITI QX80 that’s expected to arrive at our Bergen County NJ dealership location by the end of this year. With that being said, let’s take a look at what’s new for this model.

The “Powerful Elegance” design language gets taken up a notch thanks to the commanding & contemporary new direction you can see in the 2018 INFINITI QX80. The rounded look of the previous generation gets replaced by a more angular profile with defined character lines.

The following exterior features have been redesigned:

  • Hood: goes further forward & squares more up front
  • Front fenders: larger functional vents
  • Grille: sits more upright & has a thin aluminum strip beneath for more depth
  • Front & rear fascia and hatch
  • 20″ & 22″ wheel options
  • INFINITI signature “human-eye” headlamps & sharp/thin taillamps
  • Restructured LED fog lamps & side turn indicators

You’ll also get to enjoy the 3 new exterior paint choices: Moonstone White, Mineral Black and Champagne Quartz. You can now choose from 9 colors with some being metallic, some being pearlescent & some being solid so you can personalize your QX80.

2018 INFINITI QX80 Interior Changes

You can also see plenty of updates inside of the new QX80. You’ll feel the elegance of the interior that’s handcrafted to give you high-quality materials, new technologies and tuned to your lifestyle.

For starters, there’s a brand-new Saddle Brown interior color choice that comes with Charcoal Burl trim for some darker contrast. There’s also updates made to the Wheat leather color choice to give it higher contrast with the same Charcoal Burl trim, while the Graphite leather interior comes with dark brown Espresso Burl trim.

In addition, you’ll see an an updated shift knob that’s easier to grip and a new wrapped upper instrument panel with contrast stitching to give added refinement inside. These lead to the upgraded INFINITI InTouch infotainment system that lets you browse & listen to music and access popular apps via:

  • 8″ touchscreen display
  • Multi-touch smartphone controls
  • Voice control
  • Physical buttons beneath the screen & on the steering wheel

The QX80 Deluxe Package, one of the most popular feature bundles for this INFINITI, has also been updated to include new leather wrapped & stitched horn pad, door trim and seat quilting for an even more upgraded look. The INFINITI-first Smart Rear View Mirror technology, which can turn from a regular mirror to a digital monitor to get a better look at what’s behind you, comes in this package as well.

Speaking of revised features, a family favorite also gets improved: the INFINITI QX80 Theater Package. This rear entertainment system now has 16:9-ratio dual screens that are 1″ larger (8″ vs 7″) with higher resolution (960×540 pixel vs 800×480 pixel) and sharper picture quality via super-resolution imaging & ultra resolution tech.

An HDMI port, 2 USB ports & 2 wired headphone jacks have been added to the Theater Package as well, so you can hook up Blu-ray & DVD players, gaming consoles, video cameras, phones, tablets & USB memory sticks to make any ride more fun for backseat passengers. Best of all, each screen can now display individual content for even more variety.

We know a lot has changed, but one thing that has not changed is the fact that Ramsey INFINITI will have a great selection of this flagship SUV at our Route 17 showroom location. Contact our team to schedule a 2018 INFINITI QX80 test drive at our dealership serving Clifton NJ.
