2018 INFINITI Q50 Refreshes Look & Gets Self-Driving Tech
Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show is the new 2018 INFINITI Q50 that gives North New Jersey drivers a few changes for the better.
For starters, there’s a new grade structure that splits up the Q50 into 4 different trims to more personalize your INFINITI driving experience:
- RED SPORT 400
The Q50 also offers an updated look that varies between grades, with the PURE & LUXE getting one appearance and the SPORT & RED SPORT 400 models getting another. There’s also some amazing new tech inside each of these new models that you’ll want to know about.
Updated and Upgraded Design
The 2018 INFINITI Q50 will make a good first impression in the Passaic and Essex County NJ area through a number of styling cues. The signature INFINITI grille has been enhanced to give a more 3D textural quality.
A distinct character line rises from the grille to help the Q50 have a fluid profile and leads to LED headlamps & slimmer Q60-inspired combination LED rear lamps. A more angular front bumper and wider & lower air intakes bring touches of aggression in the SPORT and RED SPORT 400.
The interior also receives improved design cues including:
- Leather-like instrument panel surround with double stitching
- Leather performance-oriented shift knob with double stitching & chrome surround
- Q60-inspired steering wheel with reshaped gear-shifter paddles
- Wood dashboard trim that’s more authentic than high-gloss wooden veneers in other models
- “Spinal support” seats that minimize pressure on the back muscles
If you opt for the new INFINITI Q50 RED SPORT 400, you’ll get red stitching throughout the cabin, quilted side inserts on the seats and dark chrome-finished dashboard dials, aluminum with patterned surface trim on the dashboard, matte dark chrome on the doors and a black headliner for a more sporty look & feel.
2018 INFINITI Q50 Includes Self-Driving Tech
We know that owning or leasing an INFINITI means you get access to all the coolest upgrades. And one of them is compatibility with the all-new ProPILOT self-driving system. ProPILOT will help you retain control over the Q50 sports sedan by making tasks like navigating in highway conditions and keeping track of where surrounding vehicles are so much easier.
This tech joins a premium suite of driver assistance technologies including 2nd-generation Direct Adaptive Steering that delivers smoother operation, more direct steering responses and simpler maneuverability. This makes performance even simpler when choosing Personal, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport or Sport+ in the Drive Mode Selector.
ProPILOT and 2nd-gen Direct Adaptive Steering are the first steps towards a fully autonomous luxury car and this new INFINITI Q50 will be the first vehicle to implement the self-driving tech.
